In February Oona was feeling a little home sick. She wanted to write a letter to her grandmother and send it with a less common way. I helped Oona write a letter where she said she was having fun in San Francisco and enjoying the sailing trip around the world. However, she missed her grandparents and friends at home.  We slid the letter into the bottle. Oona was too exited to wait until we would sail outside the bay. She wanted to send the bottle right away. So, we ended up sending the bottle on it’s voyage right at the marina slip.

The bottle is on its way.

The bottle is on its way.

We adults did not want to dissappoint Oona by admitting that the bottle most likely would not make its way outside the marina. But funny things happen. Yesterday we got mail that someone at Horseshoe Cove Beach had found the bottle and the message had “googled” its way to Finland and to the grandparents.  How amazing the internet world is.   Thank you friends, for showing children (and us adults) that incredible things can happen.
